I too have been receiving numerous phone calls with these callers pretending to be Telstra. The best thing is that they have the name of my account when I originally opened it, which my surname has changed 7 years ago. I just continue to question them as to what my surname is, and they can never do so, which is the clear indicator they are not from Telstra, as all of my bills, emails, postage, and true communications with Telstra they provide my first name and new surname, and confirm more details than just the street address they include the unit number, and other details.

I made sure not to provide them any information but allowed them to think they had me on their hook, and they proceeded to talk me through the process they wanted very slowly, with selecting the window button and the Run request, and then entering EVENTVWR, however when they said to select OK, and I refused to as I was on my work computer they were asking me to turn on my personal computer to complete the process there.

I told them now was a good time and that they needed to send the directions to my email as per the bills I received and the call persisted to ask me when would be a suitable time for him to call me back, which resulted in the 2 of us going back and forth with our last sentences until eventually he hung up the phone on me.

Exact same guy called me from Said his name was Sam Johnson and was from Dell Support. They have been in my phone today, a fairly lengthy conversation, 16 mins said they were from Talktalk not had them as suppliers for 2 years! Switched on the lap top, took ages to get a signal!

I asked him which of my computers that sent the errors since I have two and he said it did not matter which one I would use to fix the issue interesting.
